Cosplay Tag

Hi I'm bored and I feel like making a blog post so I thought I'd do a cosplay tag~
I wasn't tagged by anyone as I only recently moved accounts and I haven't spoken to any of my old cosplay friends on deviant art in forever so they've probably forgotten about me  
But I thought this would be a nice way to introduce myself a little better and I find cosplay tags fun so let's do this!  

I actually did a video on a collab channel I'm on called CP Weebz so if you don't feel like reading a bunch of stuff go check out this video~ 

 Anyways let's get on with the actual Tag!  

1. Your first cosplay.
Technally speaking my first ever cosplay was Fem Italy from hetalia BUT I all I did for it is try to style my hair and do the curly thingy (spoilers it didn't work) and I wore a black blouse I stole from my dad.
The first cosplay I did with a wig and photoshoot and which actually looked atleast a little bit like the character was Megurine Luka Just be friends.

2. How many costumes have you done?
I've finished loads in the past month of which pictures will hopefully be posted soon let's count all of dem cosplays shall we?

3. Your most recent cosplay?
I recently finished my Misty cosplay from pokemon but I have not worn it yet. (I had a photoshoot planned but both me and the photographer were too tired to go do the thing so we'll be doing that shoot next week =u
The day before however I did a mini shoot as Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. it was a bikini shoot and I have received some unedited pics but I don't look super nice in it so Imma just wait for my main photographer to edit the pics and send em to me~ (the pics I got were from a different photographer as we kind of took pictures of eachother at my pool)

So le answer is best time traveling lesbian in bikini  

4. Your favourite cosplay (that you have done)
Untill recently it was my Krul Tepes cosplay as I'm super proud that I was able to hand make that costume.



HOWEVER

I recently did a shoot with Namvd as Hatsune Miku in Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's Pon Pon Pon outfit (got that's a mouth full) and it was SO much fun!
By far the most fun I've had in a cosplay. It's so cute and colourfull and I feel so happy wearing it!

5. The character you have cosplayed that is most similar to you (if none that you have cosplayed, then one that you will cosplay)
This one is definelty Max Caulfield. I'm actuallt replaying Life is Strange right now and it reminded me of how my I can relate to Max. From her awkwardness and anxieties at the beginning of the game to her opening up more and how she develops as a person throughout the story. (sadly I do not have time traveling powers but oh well~) I also love her sense of humour and I higly apreceate her sarcasm and snarky comments.

I also somewhat look like her. She's a little short with messy brown hair and freckles on her face, we even have the same eye colour! The only real difference is I have super small lips XD (like almost non-existant)



I'm not entirely happy with how my Max cosplay turned out (I want to get a new wig and a new hoodie) And I'm planning on re-doing this version of max and doing her punk/Rachel Amber outfit at some point.
I also plan to cosplay Chloe pretty soon and would like to cosplay Racher, Kate and maybe even Victoria at some point.

6. Your cosplay plans for the rest of the year (if you have no more for this year, then do next year!)
Okay I'm going to section this up into a few lists because I have a lot in progress and a lot of things I should be able to finish before the end of the year~

7. The dream cosplay that might just happen.
Godoka/God Madoka from puella Magi Madoka Magica :bademoticon:  I have an idea on how I want to make this costume and I actually know a very beautifull Godoka cosplayer who is happy to give advice. The reason I'm not working on it atm is because it's going to be a huge project and cost a lot of time and money so I'll have to wait till I have that.

Another dream of mine is to do Devil Homura from the same series which I'm hoping to do for AnimeCon 2017 as the theme of next year is Magical Girls  

8. The dream cosplay that will never happen.
Dizzy from Guilty Gear. I am not risking my boobs falling out and a leather suit thingy with a fat ass tail, not to mention those insane looking wings. Maybe some day I'll do it but I'd probably only do a photoshoot with it and photoshop the wings into the picture because nah m8 

9. Something cosplay-related that you will never do (eg. crossplay, cosplay from a certain series)
I'm a big believer of trying new things and being open to as much as possible so this one is pretty difficult... 

10. Your cosplay idol.

Mango Sirene! My absolute favourite cosplayer of all time. I love her youtube video's, her cosplays look amazing and she seems like such a sweet kindhearted person  

11. Your cosplay specialty (ie. something that seems to apply to a large amount of your cosplays, it could be a specific series, or a common feature in their appearance, such as glasses)
It doesn't apply to all of my cosplays but most of my cosplays are pretty low budget.
People often tell me they want to cosplay more but it's too expencive. I myself don't earn a lot of money but I'm able to do loads of cosplays (granted quite a lot of them are quite casual)

A few examples of extreemly cheap cosplays I've done


My Pon Pon Pon cosplay~ 

Believe it or not but the one piece, gloves and hair assesories all came together and only cost me about 12 euro's! I got it off of Bodyline.co.jp~ the wig was a bit pricier (30 euro's) but it was a birthday gift and I've used it for 4 different cosplays so far ^^ I still kept it under 50 euro's as I just wore some sneakers and socks I already owned  



Same goes for my Kagamine Rin Meltdown cosplay. I got the dress, head bow, socks and gloves all together for again about 12 euro's off of bodyline and the wig was about 16-17 euro's from JCPunk on ebay (My favourtite Wig seller atm)

If people are interested I think it'd be fun to do some sort of tutorial like thing on how to make/get cheap cosplays ^^

12. Your cosplay-making habits (eg. singing while working on cosplay)
The biggest habit is procrastination (big shock) another one I have is working on more than one costume at a time. I like having a change of pace and working on loads of stuff all at once. It does get a little cluttered at times but most of the time it seems to work fine  

13. Your least favourite thing about cosplay?
When making a costume goes wrong. When I mess up to the point where I have to start all over again I get so dissapointed in myself and it's super frustrating. 

14. Do you belong to any cosplay groups? If so, what are they?
I'm a member of the CP Weebz which is a youtube channel where I and a bunch of other cosplayers post video's about cosplay~ Basically that's my current squad.
However I'm also assembling a cosplay group called Mahou Show Hoes. Basically I love Magical girl anime but I barely know anyone who likes this genre and wants to cosplay from it (well wants to cosplay more than just Sailor Moon)

So if you're a Dutch cosplayer (Preferably near Eindhoven) who would like to do Magical girl cosplays too hit me up  

15. What events have you cosplayed to? Future event plans?
Oh boy...

I'll just list the upcoming cons I might go to, the cons I want to go to every year and my dream conventions~

For the rest of the year:

1. AbunaiCon (already got my ticket and I'm super hyped!)
2. Elfia Arcen (First ever Fantasy Fair~)
3. NishiCon (I've never been there, I might go one day I'm not sure yet)
4. MGC Experience (I've never been there so I'm curious to see what it's like)

16. What is your best cosplay memory?
 For my 16th Birthday I organisted a cosplay meet up and my friends assembled a Super Sonico cosplay for me and I almost cried   (Super Sonico is my Waifu 10/10 best grill #BAE)

17. What is your worst cosplay memory?
At AnimeCon this year I lost my wallet and had a panick attack and at the time I definetly felt awfull   however the staff was absolutely lovely and all my friends were super helpfull so it wasn't even that bad in the end =u= that's the lostest to a bad cosplay memory I have where I'm directly involved. There's been some drama here and there and people who felt like being rude about my cosplays but nothing super negative.  

18. Have you won any cosplay awards?
Nope~ I've always wanted to join a cosplay competition but I have anxiety and stage fright so I have no idea how I'm going to get myself up on a stage let alone win something  

19. Your best cosplay derp photo!

20. Have you worn cosplay in a regular situation? (eg. at school, to work)
Yes! I've worn cosplays to school on several ocasions, not like full cosplays but I've worn wigs to school on bad hair days and my Matryoshka hoodies are really nice and soft so they're nice for Autum.
One time all my clothing was in the wash and all I had to wear were some ugly old clothing pieces that I hated and didn't match with anything and the tunic for my fem Link cosplay. So I wore my Link cosplay to school  

21. Your most expensive cosplay.
My Krul Tepes Cosplay


I can't remember the exact amount of money I spent but the wig must've been something like 25-30 euro's, then there's the black white and red fabric, the heels for the bootcovers. The craftfoam for the hair assesories and the lace and buttons for detailing. absolutely worth it tho! I will be fixing the boots soon so I can wear this cosplay at AbunaiCon and later references shows she's wearing glove thingy's under her floopy sleeves so if I have time I'll make those too~

22. Your most comfortable cosplay and most uncomfortable cosplay.
The most comfortable cosplay I own that I can show you is Gumi's Difficult love outfit.



The most Uncomfortable cosplay is my Yui Cosplay.


Not becuase the fabric is annoying or anything but I kind of just threw this together quickly for my friends who wanted to cosplay Kirito and Asuna and it's basically an XL T-Shirt with a handmade belt and a 100cm wig.

Because it's a shirt and not a dress it was way too short and it just didn't look flattering at all! If I ever do Yui again I'm just going to buy a cheap dress because I don't feel like making the dress myself. Yui is a cute character but Sword Art Online isn't a show I'm particularly passionate about and I'd rather spend my time and effort on cosplays from shows I like more.

23. The cosplay you put the most effort into?
That would definetly be my Krul Tepes Cosplay. It was fully handmade by me and I'm super proud of myself for it  



24. Any unfinished costumes? Will you ever finish them?

25. How many wigs do you own? Which is your favourite?
Last time I counted them it was 25 then later I found out a friend of mine still had one of my wigs (which she borrowed a while ago) and since then my wig for Misty has arrived so that would make 27. However I have 4 wigs I don't like that I'm trying to get rid of of which one will probably become my experiment wig and the other three I'm going to sell.
And I've also ordered 3 more wigs that should arrive somewhere in the upcoming weeks and because I'm me I'll be ordering many more before the end of this year...

What do you mean I have a problem  

26. Where do you work on your cosplays and where do you store them when they’re done?
I have a little work station in the office area of my house. There's a craft table that was origionally bought for my younger sister to work on and my moms sewing machine. But I've slowly claimed the area over the past few years  

I store my wigs in buckets. I have a large popcorn bucket (clean) where I store my short wigs and a bigger bucker for my longs wigs. I also have 3 wig heads of which 2 are in use (and I'm planning on ordering more as I'm doing some wig styling projects pretty soon)

I store my costumes in my closet. I have a small walk in closet with two racks and I also have some storage boxes where I keep my foldable cosplays. This is also where the big bucket of long wigs is stored and I'm working on clearing out the back a bit more so I can store more props in there too.  

27. What is your favourite cosplay item?
The sleeves of my Krul Tepes cosplay are loads of fun! They're super long and floppy ♥

28. Cosplay peeves/things you are particular about
I'm not really particular about much but if my cosplay doesn't look the way I want it too I probably won't wear it until the part I dislike is fixed. (only if it makes me look super unflattering tho)

29. Something you want to improve on for future cosplays.
Ofcourse I want to get better at sewing and all that. I think constant improvement is what makes cosplay such a fun hobby. One thing I'd like to do is lose some weight. Mainly so I look better in pictures but also because that way I can fit into more cosplays. (also please don't go leaving any "Oh no you don't need to lose weight" comments I know I don't NEED to but I WANT to so let me do me and you go do you)

30. Cosplay-related work you are most naturally talented at (ie: sewing, prop-making, wigstyling, etc)
I find working with craft foam and EVA foam really easy! I've also gotten a lot better at styling wigs!
